Southland currently faces a number of the challenges relating to infrastructure, services and workforce, which require being addressed at a regional level. Ensuring the availability of appropriate infrastructure, including transport, communication and effective management and utilisation of our energy, as well as the attraction and development of a skilled workforce, will be key elements in Southland’s long-term prosperity.

The Venture Southland Enterprise team works closely with industry sectors, training and educational bodies, and local and central government agencies to address these issues. Projects or challenges of regional significance have been identified through consultation and will be pursued through Regional Projects along with Venture Southland's ongoing work and service delivery areas such as the following:
