Edendale/Kamahi Scenic Reserve

105 Scenic Reserve Road, Edendale

Located on the hill above Edendale, the Kamahi (Edendale) Scenic Reserve has a great loop track through thick native bush and is an excellent place to encounter all five examples of native podocarp trees: rimu, miro, matai, kahikatea and totara. The easy loop track provides a short 15 minute return walk and longer 30 minute return walk.

The starting point of the track is an open area set into the woods that offers fantastic views across the Mataura Valley towards the Catlins. It is a great picnic site for families, friends or couples.

Note: Dog access is allowed if the dog is on a leash. Go here for more dog friendly walks and areas in Southland.
