Its CAMP TIME!
Camp Taringatura, a unique New Zealand location!
Unlike many places you will stay, Camp Taringatura is not in a town. The Camp lays in the heart of the Rural Country side surrounded by Native Bush inviting you to explore some of the last remnants of Southland Plains Podocarp Forests that are now extinct. Only 1% remain.
Our Camp sits on the Banks of the Dipton Stream, In the middle of New Zealand's Greatest Province Southland. Close to Great Lakes, Rivers and Mountains.
Queenstown and Milford Sound are just one and a half hours distance.
Oh there are many things to get to, at and around the Camp: Swimming, wandering, biking, playing games on the spacious paddocks, nature watching, fishing, climbing, ...what ever the heart needs to do.
Built in the 50,s by the Presbytarian Church, many a story has been told and is yet to come that is for sure! Yes your Grandparents or Great Grand Parents even.. just miight have slept in the same hut as you, how cool is that!
Camp Taringatura is a great place for a great Camp open 365 days of the year!
Get together in the 260 m2 Main Hall. Meet with enough seating, cutlery-plates-cups and glasses serving for atleast 100 people. There is a fire place with lounge area, a sound system with microphone if needed, also awaits you a danceing area to get footloose and go bonkers.
Not to forget, here is also a blackboard and pinboard .
There is a seperate kitchen area which has a service window into hall. You will find a walk in pantry, three ovens, water boilers for tea, 6 sinks, pots-pans and plenty of room to cook up a storm!
The Camp Sleeps 64 people with additional mattresses if more are required.
There are toilets and showers for each boys and girls.
We are back for all the fun times in a new makeover.
Welcome to beautiful Camp Taringatura.
An asset again for Southlanders and Citizens of the World.
