Winton

The Winton Walkway (or  Winton Rotary Trail) is a 9km public trail encircling the whole Winton township. It includes scenes of native bush, the Winton Stream, rural farm land, built up housing areas, and the grounds beside Central Southland College. It opens up scenic parts of the town which might not otherwise be able to be experienced and is stunning in every season.

The trail is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, and dog walkers and has assets such as; four car parks, two shelter sheds, and six rest areas seats. There are many access points around the town, allowing users to conveniently hop on and off the trail where they wish.

The trail has come from the community for the community and it is owned by the community. Local landowners donated their private land for the trail to use, the local business community donated time and materials, and the local Winton Rotarians did all of the physical work on the trail.
