The Southern Mustang Club previously hosted this event for the first time in 2011.
This extended weekend was a resounding success, and it is anticipated that attendance for 2017 will build off the attention and support from the previous occasion.
In 2011 220 people registered for the convention, and the Car Show consisted of 114 cars, fully utilising all available floor space.
650 members of the public paid to visit the car display, and 95 rooms were occupied at the Ascot Park Hotel by participants.
The Southern Mustang Convention 2017 Committee are confident that the number of participants for the forthcoming event will comfortably exceed the 2011 result, and at this time, indications for advance accommodation bookings confirm this.
The Southern Mustang Club consists of 65-75 members and extends to involvement from both Dunedin and Central Otago residents.
The club has existed since 1998 and is active throughout the year, including a support role of the staging of the Burt Munro Rally weekend.
