Invercargill has a thing with wheels – and New Zealand’s premier destination for petrolheads is set to add another jewel to its crown.
Coming in February 2020, the George Begg Classic Speedfest will be a celebration of one of Southland’s homegrown heroes and a golden age in Kiwi motorsport history. In the 1950s and 1960s, with an illustrious career racing motorcycles in Britain and the Isle of Man under his belt, Begg built 18 race cars that beat some of the world’s biggest names.
Brought to you by the team behind the world-class collections at Classic Motorcycle Mecca and Bill Richardson Transport World, in conjunction with the Southland Sports Car Club, the George Begg Classic Speedfest is set to hit Teretonga Park on February 15 and 16. Get ready to be part of the ride.
