SBHS Museum Open Day

1:30pm - 5:00pm

SBHS Museum

181 Herbert Street, Invercargill

The SBHS Museum displays information and artefacts relating to this famous school’s history since its opening in 1881. Southland Boys’ High has produced many distinguished New Zealanders, including 7 Knights, 1 Prime Minister, 3 Cabinet Ministers and 3 Ambassadors. Old boys have gained distinction in Olympics and as NZ Reps in several sports, and SBHS has produced the most All Black Captains of any New Zealand school.  This is the only Invercargill Museum to have formed a part of the WW100 Heritage Trail. The school suffered 228 War Dead in both World Wars and you can see biographical memorials and commemorative photo albums honouring them in our Museum.
