Our staff have a wealth of experience and knowledge about walks to do and sights to see in Fiordland. The information and services we offer include: Great Walks and backcountry tracks information and maps, hut tickets, track conditions and weather forecasts, tips about short walks and family friendly activities, hunting and fishing permits, and didymo clean gear certificates.

In our visitor centre you can also learn about conservation in Fiordland; watch our 20 minute short film Stepping into Fiordland National Park, look through our small museum showing the natural and human history and features of Fiordland, learn about Fiordland's special birds - the endangered takahē and kākāpō - and the work we do to protect them, and get details about our conservation projects and how you can get involved.

We also stock some last minute essential items for your trip into the park, as well as books, postcards, clothing and gifts.
