Lake Te Anau, Te Anau

With its beautiful, broad beach, Brod Bay is a popular spot in summer for boating and jet-skiing, as well as day walking and picnicking. It is also the drop off point for trampers who choose to cut out the first forest section of the Kepler Track.

It is home to a Great Walk campsite, with 15 tent sites nestled amongst attractive red beech forest. The facilities at the campsite, which include a kitchen shelter with a sink, a stainless steel bench top, and rainwater on tap, picnic tables, and two long-drop toilets, are a huge drawcard for picnickers taking a break from their water activities.

The bay can only be reached by boat or by walking along the first section of the Kepler Track.
