Upukerora River Track

Upukerora River Track, Te Anau

This track offers beautiful views across Lake Te Anau to the Murchison Mountains and Fiordland National Park as it heads from the Te Anau township toward the Upukerora River along the lake's edge.

The track starts at the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre on Lakefront Drive in Te Anau. It follows the lakeshore toward the main shopping centre and beyond to the boat harbour a Bluegum Point. This first section takes about 30 minutes. For a longer, 3 hr return trip, continue around the lakefront and past the rodeo grounds to the mouth of the Upukerora River.

Ride your bike or walk dogs on a leash - this track is great for a range of family activities.
