It was 1999 the Invercargill Brewery was established in a disused dairy shed and head brewer Steve Nally set about applying new world flavours like Nelson Hops, Gladfield Malt and Central Otago apples to old-world beer styles. The result has been an award winning range of authentic Southern Brews that include seasonal specials that have gained international accolades.
We have a reputation for flavoursome innovation, combining local ingredients with traditional beer styles. We take real ingredients like malt from Gladfield Malt in Canterbury or Cryer Malt in Auckland, hops grown and processed at Moteuka, windfall apples from Southland trees, and Oreti River Water, and turn them into a range of delicious beers and ciders at our premise in Invercargill. From here they’re packaged into 330ml bottles, or kegs, and shipped around New Zealand – and the world.
Invercargill Brewery Bottlestore is craft beer oasis, with 10 taps and bottled beer from breweries throughout New Zealand and overseas, it’s open 11am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 11am to 6pm Friday and from 11am to 4pm Saturday; brewery tours for groups of 15 or more are available by arrangement.
