
Garston School

Located on the Invercargill to Queenstown highway, Garston School is a small rural school providing education for students in years 1-8. A strong emphasis on literacy and maths encourages a stimulating learning environment which provides students with enjoyment, security and opportunities to develop confidence as learners.
The school is committed to encouraging students become self-assured, productive, independent, respectful and innovative 'smart thinkers’ which is known as the S.P.I.R.I.T. of Garston. As an Enviroschool the students have many opportunities to learn about, in and through the outdoors. The school has vegetable gardens, an orchard, greenhouse, a Peace Garden, a native reserve and a sculpture garden.
The playground includes a sledging track, flying fox, various fields/courts, swimming pool, adventure playground and a fort.
