
Southern Institute of Technology (SIT)

The Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is a New Zealand government institution registered with the International Association of Universities. SIT is a tertiary provider with qualifications available at certificate, diploma, bachelor and master’s degree level.
The main campus is located in Invercargill (lower South Island), with satellite campuses based around New Zealand in Gore, Queenstown, Christchurch and Auckland. SIT has established itself as a preferred educational institution with strong support networks and a wide range of programmes that lead directly to the labour market and/or higher studies.
In New Zealand, SIT is renowned as being the home of the Zero Fees Scheme, that enables New Zealand residents/citizens to study at SIT without having to pay tuition fees. Internationally the institution is well regarded and in 2018, SIT welcomed over 1,800 international students from across the world to study predominantly at its campuses in Invercargill and Queenstown. SIT continues to be a sought after education destination for students.
