Mataura River Lodge is located in Riversdale, in a simply stunning rural setting. The lodge itself is newly redecorated in a high end style leading to an incredibly comfortable and relaxing stay for all visitors.

There are two beautifully appointed bedrooms in the guest wing with their own private bathroom. Dean is an internationally renowned fly fishing guide with 36 years experience and Fiona is an incredible chef, cooking a range of incredible meals and baked goods for all guests. All visitors are free to use the espresso coffee machine at all times and Sky TV and Netflix are available too. The grounds look across a range of farms through to beautiful mountains in the background. Fiona and Dean will ensure their guests relax and have an amazing stay. Mataura River Lodge offers visitors a simply stunning winter retreat; watch the mountains collect snow during your visit. 

While the accommodation and facilities are incredible, be prepared to be further impressed at breakfast and dinner time. A sample dinner to whet your appetite is Fiordland Crayfish Cocktail, Followed by local Roast Lamb with all the trimmings, topped off by homemade brandy snaps with a glass of local wine to accompany your meal. Upon arrival guests will be greeted with a selection of homemade nibbles and/or baked goods which are sure to impress.

In the immediate area is some of New Zealand's finest fishing spots, the incredible Croydon Aviation Museum, the Hokonui Moonshine Museum and a range of other neat and unique attractions. Your stay at Mataura River Lodge will set the standards for all other holidays.
