Nokomai Station, a high country farming property and rural retreat nestled in the real depths of New Zealand.
Nokomai is a historic sheep and cattle station in its own valley in the Garvie Mountains in Northern Southland. Its location is well described by the original name "Glenfalloch” given to it by its first settler, meaning “hidden valley". Nokomai is one of the few original runs left intact in the area and has a wealth of history attached through farming and gold mining.
Nokomai Valley Lodge is set amongst beautiful old trees surrounding a historic stone homestead, first built in 1870 and restored as a millennium project in 2000. The addition of the large Lodge building, completed in 2020, provides an opportunity to cater for small to medium size gatherings. The Lodge is the perfect place for hosting a retreat or events such as small weddings, family gatherings or meetings. Comfortable modern onsite accommodation is available for retreats or events in country-style cottages.
Enjoy a relaxing getaway nestled in a remote valley surrounded by alpine panorama, flowing rivers and high country stock or indulge in the endless activities available right on our doorstep!
