The Garston Hotel was originally built in 1876 but was destroyed by fire and rebuilt to its current Art deco style in 1939. It has been a long-standing icon for the area, situated in the Mataura valley, next to the Mataura river. We offer a great escape for the keen fisherman, with some of the best brown trout fishing accessible within walking distance of the hotel. It's also a good option for an overnight stop along the Around the Mountain Cycle Trail.
Situated on the main highway, the Garston Hotel provides great coffee and food to take away or dine in, a haven for locals and travellers alike, with accommodation available on site, a fully licensed bar, and restaurant, all your needs are catered for.
