Discover New Zealand's smallest island by cruise with regular stops to explore the native bush and visit historical sites.
We offer "off the beaten track" wilderness adventures on Ulva Island and Stewart Island, in New Zealand's deep south, for small groups. We welcome you to come and enjoy this special part of New Zealand and share the beauty of the place we call home.
Our iconic guided walk on Ulva Island is a must-do for any traveller! Look out for penguins on the short boat ride to Ulva Island, walk easy tracks through primeval rainforest, enjoy close views of rare and endangered birds, admire delicate ferns and mosses, and be inspired by passionate guides sharing their local knowledge on birds, plants, ecology and Maori culture. This full day trip includes a picnic lunch at picturesque Sydney Cove and a unique afternoon hike to the Snuggery.
Another of our popular tours is our night walk in search of kiwi in the wild. Learn interesting facts about kiwi, why they are unique, their behaviour, and their habitat. As night falls, search for this curious bird and listen for their shrill calls. Walking on this trip is slow and suitable for anyone with a reasonable fitness. We also provide courtesy transport included back to your accommodation. For the more adventurous, we also have a variety of multi-day trips to search for kiwi in their natural habitat.
We also offer guided tramps on the Rakiura Track, guided sea kayaking tours, scenic road tours and cruises, and various other guided hikes.
