Explore Ulva Island and Stewart Island with Ulva's Guided Walks, one of the original bird watching companies on Stewart Island. Established in 2000 by Ulva Goodwillie, who was named after Ulva Island and is a direct descendant of the first Stewart Island Maori, we are a team of local guides who are passionate and knowledgeable about this special place.

Join us for a unique experience learning about our native flora and fauna on one of our four spectacular trip options. Our half day 'Beautiful Birding and Botany' trip is all about discovering the unique, rare birds and plants on Ulva Island at close quarters. Our full day 'Birding Bonanza' encompasses a walk on Ulva Island, a deep ocean pelagic seabird tour, and evening kiwi spotting. Our full day 'Birding Classic' takes in birds on Ulva Island with a morning walk and pelagic seabirds around the coastline with an afternoon tour. Our half day 'Bush-Birds-Beach-History' trip starts with a 20 minute water taxi to Port William, a historic Maori and early sealing site, where we will take you on a 4-5 hour guided walk through the bush and along beaches, spotting birds along the way.
