A quirky mix mix between a tiny antique museum filled with local historical artifacts and an awesome cafe stocked with homemade goodies, Yesteryears is my privately owned museum of rural Southland history, set in a warm cafe atmosphere.
Come in to see my collection of interesting things from four families who lived in the Tuatapere area, as well as artifacts from the town's schools, churches and businesses. All the old-fashioned home-wear you could ever imagine fills shelves, cabinets and hangs from the ceiling. Admire century-old egg beaters, count the 262 teapots, and enjoy music as it plays from a record player.
While you're here, have a cup of coffee and tuck into a home-baked pie, quiche or apple strudel. Or pick up some homemade jam or local honey for on-the-road breakfasts.
