The Chasm Car Park, Te Anau-Milford Highway,
Milford
An easy 20 minute walk leads to two foot bridges over the Cleddau River that provide dramatic views of a series of powerful waterfalls. Thousands of years of swirling, high velocity water have sculpted and scoured fascinating shapes and basins in the rock.
A popular track, the 400m return walk is great for families and is wheelchair accessible. Conveniently located between the Homer Tunnel and Milford Sound, it's the perfect place to stretch your legs on the way to Milford.
Note: The Chasm track is closed due to storm damage. Please see updates on the track on the Department of Conservation website.
