Ivon Wilson Park, Te Anau-Manapouri Highway, Te Anau

Ivon Wilson Park is a peaceful, open 35 hectare park with both introduced and native trees and great views of the Fiordland Mountains. It's a great place for families to visit with extensive plantings and many marked trails leading to the picturesque Lake Henry which is stocked with rainbow and brown trout as a children's fishery.

Fishing licences for children (free) are available from the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre. A lovely 10 minute walk, mostly along the lake's edge, links the Visitor Centre and the park.

It's a good park for picnicking or walking your dog, and toilets are available near the entrance. There is play equipment including flying foxes in the reserve and also a disc golf course and a mountain bike track.

Note: Dog access is allowed if the dog is on a leash. Go here for more dog friendly walks and areas in Southland.
