Five Rivers Cafe is a rural cafe, bar, art gallery and farmyard, located on a popular tourist route half-way between Queenstown, Invercargill and Milford Sound.
Fitted out in a country rustic style, our cafe has a wide range of food available daily ranging from home made fresh muffins and scones to sandwiches, paninis, quiches, frittatas, wraps, cakes and slices. We also do light meals including home made soups, local blue cod, chicken and pasta. We are a fully licensed bar and have a selection of New Zealand and international wines and beer to enjoy with your meal, while also enjoying the scenic view of the mountains from the garden bar in summer or sitting on a comfy leather couch beside a roaring fire in winter.
We are home to a small art gallery that contains an assortment of paintings, prints and craft objects for sale. This gallery presents work by top artists from both the Southland and Otago regions.
The cafe is a family friendly environment with children's books for entertainment and safe outdoor spaces. We have an assortment of interesting and amusing friendly farm animals outside the cafe for guests to pet, including a kune kune pig, alpacas, a miniature horse, a goat, a dog, and larger ponies.
