The Tumu Toka Curioscape Campground at Curio Bay offers a unique coastal environment to take a break on your Catlins journey.
The campground has 20 powered and over 100 non powered sites available for visitors. Nestled alongside the swimming beach of Porpoise Bay, natural alleys of flax provide the campground with plenty of sheltered and private sites. From these sites many visitors have been lucky enough to spot the rare Hectors Dolphins that have made themselves at home in the bay and keep an eye out for the NZ Sea Lions that visit the campground from time to time. With a beautiful beach, fishing locations and loads of nearby activities you’ll never be short on things to do!
The camp ground has a new amenities building specially designed for its visitors. The building houses a full kitchen and dining space, laundry facilities and showers. For an original Curio Bay campground experience check out the historic tank showers with their iconic murals.
The camp ground's camp shop is the perfect place to buy all of the essentials for your stay. A range of basic food items such as bread, milk, pasta and rice are available as well as barbeque food and camp supplies. A range of lollies, chocolate and ice cream is also on offer for those wanting to treat themselves! A public barbeque area is available to all visitors and a barbeque for campers to use is available from the camp shop for a gold coin donation.
