Revitalize Music Festival
Revitalize might just be the coolest little festival on the planet.
It’s a celebration of all things organic and natural - in a magical Western Southland setting, under the Takitimu mountains at Mangapiri Downs Organic stud Farm, a pioneering organic stud sheep, cattle and forestry farm.
Listen, relax, learn and take time out to just be in the serenity of the majestic venue, where the air is just that little bit fresher.

The Revitalize Festival swings into action in early January each year at Mangapiri Downs, which is near Blackmount, between Tuatapere to the south and Manapouri to the north.
You can come one day or stay for all three, and there’s great camping, it’s free! There’s plenty of other accommodation nearby as well.

The 469-hectare farm spans out over Red Tussock hill country, with Shire hair sheep that don’t need shearing, and the postcard-perfect hairy Tufty cattle (polled Highland cattle).
Tim Gow and his family have been farming organically here since the 1980s and the property has been in the family since the 1930s.
Revitalize celebrates the organic spirit of Mangapiri Downs with a line-up of renowned Aotearoa musicians each year - with the likes of Paul Ubana Jones, Craig Smith and The Julian Temple Band headlining in past years.
The festival comes alive with the Open Mic Night for anyone and emerging musicians.
During the lazy, hazy festival days you can drop into a workshop with themes ranging from music, song-writing, farming/regenerative, meditation, reiki and yoga or join in a relaxing sabbatical fallowing walkthrough herbal pastures – to find out more about the stud’s farming practices.
There are displays, EV rides and talks around sustainability, natural health and healing, loads of family-friendly fun with play areas, and of course lots of amazing animals to hang out with. A huge shearing shed and covered yards are available.
Feeling peckish? A range of organic and natural food trucks are on-site serving up delicious, nutritious fare, and you’re welcome to bring your own food as well.
For time out, take a farm walk up Butterfly Hill with magnificent views over the farm and out to the Takitimu and Fiordland mountains.
While you're here, why not head along the Southern Scenic Route and explore the rugged coastline of Western Southland where you find Gemstone Beach and all its semi-precious stones, or continue on to Bluecliffs Beach where you may see dolphins surf the waves.
