Food & Drink Events in Southland

Start your food journey south

What is a Southland Foodie, you may ask? It's someone who enjoys savouring and celebrating tantalising dishes or beverages right down to the last crumb or drop; that's our kind of foodie person! We pride ourselves in celebrating our local fare, from Bluff oysters to whisky, Fiordland crayfish and venison, to whitebait, lamb, coffee and honey - the list goes on and on!

It's no wonder the go-getters of the region, the people that put in the mahi, run a variety of fantastic events to celebrate the southern produce we hold so dear.

From one-day affairs to month-long celebrations, harvest and seafood festivals to high-tea afternoons. Maybe a cooking class is more your thing, or perhaps sample some hop-packed ales, dark, rich stouts or a refreshing pilsner at a beer fest.

There is always something for your tastebuds to look forward to, with Southland's mouth-watering cuisine available all year round. You can taste it all in Southland.
