Te Anau Enduro
The Te Anau Enduro is probably the most laidback, active fun you’ll ever have.
The course is made up of three separate laps - kayak, mountain bike and run, with each lap taking about 30 minutes to complete. You complete as many laps as you can on and around beautiful Lake Te Anau.
You can complete laps of any course you choose, in whatever order you choose, scoring a point for every completed lap. You can enter yourself, or as a team of up to three people, in either the four, six or eight hour events.
Compete hard or enter for fun, there’s something for everyone. Why not theme your team?
Just make sure you enter a category which suits your level of fitness - and with the event catering from novices through to elite competitors - everyone is welcome.

It’s a fantastic scene as rows of kayaks line the edge of the lake, smiles on the faces of participants, volunteers, and support crews alike.
There’s an awesome race pack and you’ll be in the mix for heaps of great prizes - not to mention the coffee truck (as if we would forget that!), a sausage sizzle, a massage tent and a fluid station.
You can do whatever lap you want to do, whenever. If kayaking isn’t your thing no stress, you can simply bike or run for the duration of the race.
Spectators cheer you on while soaking up the scenic beauty of the lake and mountains.
Prepare for high-fives as you return through the bustling central transition area by the Marakura Yacht Club.
The beauty of the Te Anau Enduro is that if you start to feel fatigued, you can take a break at your transition area, refuel, rest and recharge before embarking on your next lap.
Picture your paddle cutting through the water on the glistening lake as you kayak through the sheltered area of Lake Te Anau between the Marakura Yacht Club and the float plane jetty - a distance of about 4km.
The 4.7km run course takes you through all sorts of terrain - forest stands, downhills through native bush, one road and off. Lap up the views of Lake Te Anau and the picturesque Lake Henry nestled in the midst of the equally beautiful Ivon Wilson Park - definitely one of Te Anau’s hidden gems.
The Mountain Biking Course takes advantage of the new Fiordland Trails Trust Cycle Trail between Marakura Yacht Club and the control gates, then continues along the Te Anau Cycling track between the old and new Kepler carparks, before returning back toward the transition area along a mix of, gravel, grass and forest trails - a distance of about 10.5km.
And when the Enduro’s all done - you’ll be about ready to get started exploring the rugged and remote Fiordland region, which offers awe-inspiring landscapes and a wide range of recreational activities. It’s a world-class sightseeing destination and a must-do for anyone exploring New Zealand.
